Myers House Pewter Marrow Spoon

A Shirley Pewter Design

The Myers House Pewter Marrow Spoon is a reproduction in pewter of a silver spoon dated London 1795-96. In the collection on display at the Myers House Museum in Norfolk, Virginia, the original spoon bears the monogram MEM, of Moses and Eliza Myers. The long narrow gulley of the spoon allowed one to remove marrow from the bone. These spoons were widely used during the reign of Queen Anne, when marrow was considered a delicacy. Today, in addition to being an unusual collectors item and conversation piece, it is an ideal stirrer, iced tea spoon and relish scoop. Handcrafted in the USA, the marrow spoon is 9.5 inches long.
